The EPS foam is formed inside the exterior shell and not in a separate mold. As the EPS beads expand during the steaming process to create the inner liner, they are directly fused with the exterior shell itself (no spot glue or tape is needed), creating a molecular perfect fit between inner liner and out shell. This allows the two parts to work together optimally in case of an impact, transferring the energy faster and smoother through the shell and into the actual EPS foam – dissipating the energy efficiently.
